About Vision Dental
Vision Dental is a cutting edge 4,500 sq foot dental office located near UCLA Campus and Century City. We provide free reserved patient parking located in the private lot of our building, and are open Monday – Saturday. We are out of network with all insurances, but help our patients bill their PPO insurance carriers as a courtesy.
We have doctors that specialize in:

Our practice focuses on providing patients with a unique dental experience with an emphasis in patient comfort while practicing the highest quality of dentistry. Our goal is to reduce unnecessary appointment visits by providing dentistry through utilizing modern technology.

William Cheng, DDS, MS

Dr. William J. Cheng is co-founder and president of Vision Dental. He served as clinical faculty at UCLA School of Dentistry from 2013-2018. His practice philosophy focuses on providing a patient-centered dental experience blending new technology with time-proven techniques. An teacher at Kaplan Test Preparation for 6 years, he completed his dental program receiving both DDS, MS Degrees in 2012. Since 2008, he has worked with dentists from both USC and UCLA, amalgamating the styles of both schools into his own. He has presented his research at IADR and AADR conferences, and published his research in the CDA Journal in 2012. Dr. Cheng’s dental interests lie in restorative & cosmetic dentistry.

Outside of dentistry William, and his wife Dr. Nicole Cheng love to stay active outdoors and spend time together as a family with their children. Dr. Cheng’s hobbies include taking care of his coral reef tank, playing magic the gathering, building computers, playing video games (Overwatch and Civilization), and working on his project cars.
Rogelio Garcia, DDS

Dr. Rogelio “Roger” Garcia is co-founder of Vision Dental. Dr. Garcia stays active and current in dentistry through his professional membership in the Academy of Operative Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Dental Association.Dr. Garcia has lived and been raised in SoCal, from the high desert to Los Angeles area. He enjoys hiking, quadding, basketball, microbrewing, swimming, snorkeling, all things Bruin, and eating at local dives.

It’s my goal to find exactly what that “thing” is for you and make it a smooth transition to excellent, comprehensive oral health you can be proud of. Nicole Cheng, DDS

Dr. Nicole Cheng is a certified specialist in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics and focuses on the use of traditional braces, self-ligating braces, Invisalign and Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs). She is an Affiliate Member of the Edward H. Angle Society and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
She holds the privilege of being in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Honor Society, a unique distinction that represents the top of the dental profession. Dr. Cheng is the author of peer-reviewed manuscripts published in Molecular Immunology, AIDS, Journal of Bone and Mineral Research and Journal of the California Dental Association. She has received biomedical research grants from the Cleft Palate Foundation and the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation. She received the Craniofacial Biology Group Award at the 2008 IADR conference and the Charley Schultz Award at the 2014 American Association of Orthodontists Annual Session. Dr. Cheng believes in volunteering her time to give back to the local community and her alma mater. She has held positions as a part-time clinical faculty at UCLA and the Cleft Team at Providence Saint John’s Hospital in Santa Monica.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her children and family. She strives to provide the highest level of care and will work closely with you to create a smile you can be proud of!
Andrew Huynh, DDS

Dr. Andrew Huynh is a board certified specialist in pediatric dentistry. He is a Southern California native and is excited to return to Los Angeles to serve the community. During his dental training at UCLA, Dr. Huynh had the opportunity to take part in dental mission trips to treat the pediatric populations in Honduras and China. These unforgettable experiences assured him that a specialty in pediatric dentistry was the right path for him. He completed his pediatric dental residency at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine/Boston Children’s Hospital, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Huynh has extensive experience in treating children from all backgrounds, including those with special healthcare needs and complex medical histories. His philosophy focuses on providing a positive impact on each child’s dental health through fun and educational experiences at every visit.
When he is not working, you can find Dr. Huynh jogging around town, on a hiking trail, practicing martial arts, and spending quality time with his family.
Chris Strandburg, DDS

Dr. Chris Strandburg, a native Californian, completed his Undergraduate training Summa Cum Laude at UCLA, and was chosen to be his department’s graduation speaker. Because of his love of Los Angeles and Bruin pride, he attended the UCLA School of Dentistry where he graduated Cum Laude with numerous awards.
Some may recognize Dr. Strandburg from his journey on Kaitlyn’s season of ABC’s “The Bachelorette.” He is a recurring guest on “The Doctors” daytime television show discussing oral health issues, and was once featured on “Good Morning America,” and “Celebrity Family Feud.”
Dr. Strandburg’s passion is helping his patients maximize their overall health by improving their oral health. He believes when we maximize our health, we feel our best and look our best. Dr. Strandburg is committed to providing the world-class service patients of Vision Dental have come to expect, and helping his patients reach their health and smile goals.
In his spare time, Dr. Strandburg enjoys being active in the gym, water-sports, and hiking. He loves music and plays guitar for pleasure. He’s also an avid reader, consuming dozens of books per year.
John Gonzales, DDS

John Gonzalez, D.D.S., grew up in Malibu. He went to the University of California, Santa Barbara and dental school at the University of California, Los Angeles where he graduated in 1992. Growing up, Dr. Gonzalez enjoyed drawing, building many projects and learning how things worked. He had won several awards in high school for ceramics and spent time in college not only studying the sciences but also doing sculpting and participating in other art forms. Soon after graduation from the UCLA’s dental school, Dr. Gonzalez, felt comfortable going immediately into private practice.
Dr. Gonzalez always uses a simple, straightforward philosophy about doing good dentistry: It involves following established principles, using his gift for understanding how things work, applying an artistic imagination, having a gentle touch and most of all treating every patient with the utmost care. Patients are to be cared for, treated with respect and honesty. Dr. Gonzalez has teamed-up with a select group of specialists who perform root canals, tooth extractions, implant placements, gingival tissue work, and other specialized procedures. These specialists share his integrity and commitment to excellence.
Dr. Kevin Lu, DDS

Dr. Kevin Lu was born and raised in Southern California. At 17 he made the decision to become a dentist, and after attending college at UC Irvine that dream became a reality. He attended dental school at UCLA, where Drs. Cheng, Garcia, Huynh and Strandburg were his classmates. Practicing dentistry with his friends was an opportunity too good to pass up, and Dr. Lu joined Vision Dental in 2021. When he isn't at Vision Dental, Dr. Lu practices with his father in Rowland Heights.
Dr. Lu enjoys the variety and complex problem solving required in general dentistry. His favorite procedures involve triaging and stabilizing emergencies. He performs extractions, root canal therapies, fillings, crowns/bridges/onlays, implant restorations, cosmetic cases, periodontal procedures, dentures, and appliance therapies to treat a wide array of needs. He believes that his primary job as a dentist is to share his experience and knowledge with his patients in easy and approachable terms, so they can always make the best informed decisions to meet their individual needs.
When he isn't at work, Dr. Lu skis 20-40 days a year, hikes and backpacks all over the Sierras, enjoys landscape photography, and aquascapes freshwater fish tanks. He is married with two small children, and loves to bring his family wherever he goes.
